Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy often consequences occur to iron deficiency, because to the increase in plasma volume in the blood, where as pregnant women need twice as much iron to meet their needs and the growth of the fetus. one way to increase Hb levels is to consume dragon fruit. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of giving dragon fruit juice on increasing Hb levels in pregnant women. The research method uses quasi experimental research with a pre test post test group design. The research population was pregnant women in the third trimester with a sample size of 10 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the average Hb level of pregnant women before the intervention was 9.270 with a standard deviation of 0.6987, while the average Hb level after the intervention was 10.230 with a standard deviation of 0.5716, while the p value was 0.001 ≤ 0.05, there was an effect of giving Dragon fruit juice to increase Hb levels in pregnant women so it is recommended to promote dragon fruit juice in pregnant women  Keywords: Dragon Fruit Juice, Hb levels, Anemia, pregnant women
